The strangest thing about some of the hate email that I receive is that sometimes I don't have the slightest idea what motivated the attack or what the person is actually attacking. For a case in point, check out this email I just received via Townhall:

You want war with Iran send your own [expletive] kids, not mine. Stop sucking up to Isreal. What a piece of [expletive] this Townhall spews. One can clearly see your for the Tea Party of Hate. I know becuase of your hate for Ron Paul.Aside from feeling bad for folks like this, you can only smile when these emails come in. First, out of the many articles I've written on Townhall in the last six months, when did I talk about Iran? Second, when did I mention Ron Paul? Third, when did I mention the Tea Party? (Note, too, that "hate" is mentioned twice -- as if this email isn't filled with hate!) :)

Sounds like somebody who thinks you ARE TownHall. Honestly, whenever I think there is hope for the future it gets totally destroyed by reading comment sections of any blog or news story.
ReplyDeleteNot to bait, but do you have any plans to write about any of those topics you haven't mentioned in the last six months? I can understand if not.
Actually, I'm thinking of writing my first article about Ron Paul -- actually, about his followers! So, the baiting is just fine. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Guess what Dr. Brown, I was just reading a passage in 1 Peter 4:14 this morning where Peter gave a word of encouragement to beloved followers of Jesus. "If you are insulted for the name of Messiah, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you." I immediately thought about all the vitriol insults you've been sharing on the LoF and thought to myself,"Boy, Dr. Brown must be getting blessed out of his socks!"
ReplyDeleteWayne, blessed indeed!
ReplyDeleteHey Dr. Brown,
ReplyDeleteI know you know this already, but when people send e-mails to you like this, i can only hear the prophetic words of the messiah even more clearly. John 15:18-"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first".or even proverbs 29:27.keep strong in the Lord and i appreciate all the work that you do. May God bless you and continue to encourage and stregnthen you in all your work for the Lord. God Bless.
Your brother in Christ-Xavier
Thanks, Xavier, and amen!
ReplyDeleteTrue enough: some people are just plain nuts, ... but there are none more insane than those who give themselves over to hate.
