I wrote this down while ministering in Ponnur, India, in Feb. 15, 1994:
By warning prospective converts about the potential hardships involved in following Jesus, we clearly INCREASE the value of salvation: Just think of something so valuable that it is well worth purchasing at the cost of everything you own! Of course, this will also deepen the commitment of the new believer, who by very definition, will be serious about following the Lord. This should be something almost universally incorporated into my "altar calls" everywhere especially where the potential "cross" is not self-evident.
